We have other teams at Tempus that are leveraging dbt-expectations, which is the recommended Great Expectations expansion for dbt. At the point where I started working on this, I had been writing dbt functionality heavily for several months and the cost of learning a new package was greater than writing the code myself. Our architecture was built in a way that did not support dbt-expectations without some refactoring. That being said, I didn't explore other options as heavily as I probably should have!
